End of Tenancy

Check out - your obligations at the end of your Tenancy.

We hope you have a long and happy tenancy however inevitably there will come a day when it is time to move on. When this happens and you find your new home – either through the Tabern Tenant Loyalty scheme or via another agent – it is important that you do not forget your end-of-tenancy obligations at your current property. With this in mind we have prepared some notes below for your consideration:

  • Section 4.6 of your contract details your legal obligations. You will need to check your signed copy of the move-in inventory to check to previous condition of the property and to make any changes before check-out
  • Your deposit/ bond that is held with the Deposit Protection service will only be released once the you, your landlord and Tabern Property Consultants are satisfied the property is in the same order it was before you moved in, with consideration made for expected levels of general wear and tear
  • The return of your entire bond is based on the check-out inspection only once your belongings have been removed. Previous property inspections during your tenancy have no bearing.
  • Your bond will only be returned after utilities companies have been informed and they have confirmed that all liabilities have been discharged by you and any repairs have been made

Please Note all check out inspections are during the hours of:

  • 8.30am and 4pm – Monday to Thursday
  • 8.30am to 1pm – Friday.

Should you decide not to or are unable to be present at the check-out then you will forfeit your ability to challenge our check-out assessment and any claim against your bond.
